Willow Dawson is an award winning graphic novelist and illustrator whose books include The Wolf-Birds (Owlkids Books), Avis Dolphin with Frieda Wishinsky (Groundwood Books, Canada; Mondadori, Italy), Ghost Limb (self-published), Hyena in Petticoats (Penguin Books), Lila and Ecco's Do-It-Yourself Comics Club (Kids Can Press), No Girls Allowed with Susan Hughes (Kids Can Press), and others. She is in development of 100 Mile House (excerpts: Top Shelf 2.0) and Bird Girl (excerpts: The Wilding). Her books are supported by the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts.

Dawson's illustration clients include: Knopf Canada, Annick Press, Owl Magazine, OwlKids Books, Groundwood Books, Penguin Canada, Kids Can Press, Top Shelf Comics, McGraw-Hill Ryerson Ltd., Metaviews, Jesse Hirsh, YWCA Canada and more.

Dawson teaches Creating Comics and Graphic Novels at the University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies. She also teaches sequential art and scriptwriting to youth across the city for organizations the likes of The Toronto District School Board, The Toronto Public Library, various private schools, Harbourfront, Spadina House Museum, The Design Exchange, and The Art Gallery of York University. In May of 2012, Dawson toured Prince Edward Island for TD Children's Book Week.
